A Stationary Odyssey

We heard back from the realtor, and the house already had an offer on it. It was probably the folks who were in just before my in-laws (they crossed paths leaving as my in-laws went in). So, this one seems unlikely, though they offered to match the current deal if it falls through.

It still means we should get our house prepared to sell, which will not be a small task.

A new house. My in-laws made an offer on a house in Ithaca today. Its a very nice place just down the road from the farm my dad has, and is within walking or biking distance from the mall. There were other people looking at it at the same time, so they went back to the realtor's office and did the paper work and put down a deposit. Now we just need to wait and see what the response is from the sellers.

If this goes through, which we presume it will eventually, Laurie and I will need to get moving on our own choices, since part of the scheme is that we will live in the new house for a while until we get a house built for ourselves. This means we need to clean up our house and get it ready to be sold, figure out where we are going to build, and settle on a design. We have already talked with the folks who will be our GC so that's set, but we need to get moving with understanding the formal process with zoning, building permits, and all the rest of it.

A first look. We went to the ob-gyn office today and got an ultrasound. It was incredible to watch the baby move and turn as we watched. It started out standing on its head and we could see the heartbeat, ribs, head, and everything else. We also think we saw the nose, which you might be able to make out in the image. After a bit, the baby moved to its back, which helped the doctor look at the things he needed to see. The head is to the left, looking up, with the body extending to the right. It was more clearly defined in the "standing on its head" pictures, but this is the image we got to bring home. Its about 2 inches long, after 11 and a half weeks.

Off to Columbus, Ohio.

ACRA is having its annual meeting in Columbus this weekend, with the fall board meeting tomorrow. I'm working on getting everything together, and leave the house in about an hour.
