We heard back from the realtor, and the house already had an offer on it. It was probably the folks who were in just before my in-laws (they crossed paths leaving as my in-laws went in). So, this one seems unlikely, though they offered to match the current deal if it falls through.

It still means we should get our house prepared to sell, which will not be a small task.
