Ground has been broken on the new house. More than ground, rock. We hit bedrock three feet down. This pile of rock is most of a rock shelf that was ripped up by the backhoe. Emma is very interested in the whole thing.
Once the hole was ready and we got the building permit, the basement walls came in by truck and lowered into place on the gravel. They were then bolted together. When that was done, the floor joists were put on top, then the concrete floor was laid.
Once the subfloor was down, the exterior walls could go up. This was Monday, when we still had good weather. This view is of the dining room, showing the window openings.
They're out there again today, even with the wind and snow showers.
